YOUR OPERATING BRIEF

Built around your requirements.

City distributionParcel deliveryCold-chain requirements

Use these questions to prepare a useful enquiry. These are sourcing considerations, not a guarantee of any specific configuration.

  • What is the cargo weight, and which body and equipment must be allowed for separately?
  • What cargo-box dimensions and loading access do you need?
  • Is refrigeration required, and at what operating temperature?
  • What are the destination-market and delivery requirements?

BUYING GUIDE

AUMARK S: plan the payload and body together.

Start with the goods you must carry and the delivery access you need. Then confirm a chassis and completed body that meet that brief. A family name or gross weight figure alone does not establish usable cargo capacity.

Match the body to the delivery

  • For a dry cargo box, specify usable internal dimensions, pallet layout and door access; external body dimensions are not usable cargo space.
  • For refrigerated work, define cargo temperature requirements, insulation, stops and cooling equipment with the body and refrigeration suppliers.
  • Include the weight and fitting requirements of tail lifts, shelving and other equipment before settling the payload.

Confirm the completed vehicle

  • Ask for the specific version, steering side, wheelbase, permitted weights and the weight basis used in the offer.
  • Have the body builder confirm the installation and loading layout against the chosen chassis.
  • Check your busiest route: access width, loading height, turning space, road conditions and destination requirements.

When the initial choice needs another look

If the completed vehicle cannot carry your busiest load within the confirmed limits, review the body, equipment or vehicle class. Extra cargo volume, a different cooling unit or a larger engine does not by itself confirm a higher payload.
